My Experience as a Blind User of the Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses (by Victor Andrews)

My name is Victor Andrews. I am a totally blind user of the Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses. I love these smart glasses because they have helped me when I have nobody around to help me read or see things.

First off, after you purchase them, you have to create an account so that you can log in and set up your new glasses. If I were you, I would set up the Meta AI app prior to owning a pair. Once you start using them, the wake word for the glasses is “Hey Meta.”

You can use the Meta AI Glasses to read many things like brochures, street signs, and parked vehicles (including buses, cars, and license plates). Your Meta glasses can also help you read signs on the wall inside a building or room. If you say, “Hey Meta, what do you see?” it will tell you what it sees in front of you.

You can also use your smart glasses to read the cooking instructions on a food package. I have used them at my job to take a picture of a package and they told me where it came from. You can also take photos and record video with the glasses, and you can share these photos and videos with your contacts or on social media.

Plus, the Meta glasses work with Be My Eyes as well as AIRA. When using them with AIRA, you must connect to an AIRA agent via WhatsApp.

You can purchase Meta glasses through their official website. Some Ray-Ban stores also carry them. I ordered my Meta glasses from Amazon. Just remember that when you order your Meta glasses, you only get the glasses and the case. They do not come with a charging cable. The charging cable is USB-C to USB-C.

I have used Meta glasses for nearly a year and I love them. They keep getting smarter and smarter every day.
